SEO, what is it? You’re probably scratching your head and thinking “Is that a slang word for something?”

Sadly, no.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is what most people commonly refer it as is the attempts to improve search engine rankings.

So, you know when you’re searching something up on google and all the results that come up? Yeah, there’s a ranking on which display links to pages are considered relevant and authoritative. How that is measured is by analyzing the number and quality of links from other web pages.

Do people even go past the third page of the search on google? Let alone the second? I don’t.

It’s simpler than you think! Let’s break this down,

You make a site and you produce great content on it – people like your stuff and link to your pages – Google sees this and thinks “This page is awesome! Let’s give it a bump.” – Your page is now on the first search page of Google – Done.

In the simplest terms, just keep making wonderful content that people find useful. Use words and phrases that are commonly used by people when they search for product and services. Don’t forget to make it easy for people to share and link to.

Then repeat the process and you’re good!

Just to make sure we’re clear on what SEO is, the simple act of ensuring a website can be found in search engines for phrases and words relevant to what the site is offering. It’s basically quality control for websites.
